Arsenio Sanchez scored 1-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Diego Belmiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 65th minute, Albino Asier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 69 minutes into the match, Saavedra's goal looked a bit too open when Pascual Etxatxu came free, but Wilfredo Bieito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guillermo Betadur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arsenio Sanchez helped the player get up and apologised. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Lion FC fully deserved thier win.
