Spectators: 7071 (Terracing: 5446, Seating: 1575, VIP seats: 50) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Zeledon Ulizes made the kick off which started today's match. In the 4th minute, Teobaldo Gabino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 5 played minutes, Curupayti's Jose Handi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ubaldo Ignado came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Curupayti reached it. Domingo Quintan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zeledon Ulizes in the 8th minute of play. Ismael Incendio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Domingo Quintan made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dionisio Daunte in the 13th minute of play forced Punua's goalkeeper Ubaldo Ignado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amadeo Norino in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ubaldo Ignado saved Punua from getting behind. Candido Satordi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ubaldo Ignado having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Punua's Teobaldo Gabino got a free kick in the 17th minute. Ubaldo Ignado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dionisio Daunte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zeledon Ulizes in the 24th minute of play forced Curupayti's goalkeeper Domingo Quintan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Adolfo Ignatius managed to get in a good position for a shot. Punua's supporters rose to their feet, but Adolfo Ignatius was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Domingo Quintan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 27 played minutes Curupayti got a freekick which was hit by Celso Amor. Domingo Quintan was out of position in the 29 minute of play, and Zeledon Ulizes capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Zeledon Ulizes really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Domingo Quintan was a little too slow when Zeledon Ulizes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 33rd minute. The score was now 2-0. Ubaldo Ignado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dionisio Daunte in the 37th minute of the match. In the 41st minute Curupayti were awarded a corner. Jose Handi went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Curupayti's Jose Handi to fire away a dangerous shot which Ubaldo Ignado despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Punua's Ubaldo Ignado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dionisio Daunte in the 42nd minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Dionisio Daunte notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Punua's Ubaldo Ignado. Ubaldo Ignado was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Amadeo Norino was the one to do the kick off. The tension between the Curupayti and the Punua players grew even worse after the yellow card. Amadeo Norino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ubaldo Ignado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. Dionisio Daunte blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ubaldo Ignado having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Punua's zone, Dionisio Daunte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ubaldo Ignado came out of the goal and Dionisio Daunte tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ubaldo Ignado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amadeo Norino, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. A collision led to Punua getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Zeledon Ulizes hit a great ball. Curupayti's Domingo Quintan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolfo Ignatius in the 78th minute of play. When Dionisio Daunte came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Curupayti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dionisio Daunte couldn't finish the play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Punua fans cheered their team off the field, for while Curupayti had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
