Volta were furious when Roque Hermelando was red carded, 4 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Volta fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 3rd minute. Penalty! Salvador Flores had in the 6thth minute some difficulties stopping Carmelo Dino's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 6 minutes into the match, Carmelo Dino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Salvador Flores. Volta's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carmelo Dino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Salvador Flores took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augusto Hermelando, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th minute, Jacobo Pabla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th minute, Gabriel Matthew got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gabriel Matthew fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauro Ospin having to interfere. Jacobo Pabla kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. If Celedonio Frutos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Salvador Flores showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Hermelando in the 31st minute of the match. After 42 minutes, Edgard Cristofol mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Benard and the Volta players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 42nd minute, Edgard Cristofol hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Gabriel Matthew had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Augusto Hermelando to make the kick off. Celedonio Frutos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Salvador Flores having to interfere. 64 minutes into the game, Blas Quin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Benard's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Volta the free kick. After a rather tough play, Benard's Blas Quin got a free kick in the 64th minute. When Generoso Abad fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Volta's protests and gave Generoso Abad a yellow card for diving instead. After 69 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Volta! After 71 minutes Volta's goalkeeper Salvador Flores managed, with a little bit of luck, save Carmelo Dino's penalty, on his right side after a tricky shot. Carmelo Dino scored 2-2 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Salvador Flores, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 75th minute, Gabriel Matthew got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 77 minutes into the match, Celedonio Frutos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Salvador Flores. Volta's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Celedonio Frutos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Virgilio Fagondo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Volta's supporters rose to their feet, but Virgilio Fagondo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mauro Ospin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Celedonio Frutos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Salvador Flores read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 95th minute of the game. One of Volta:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Benard:s goal.
