The Defensores de Alberdi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Higinio Aureo should have stopped the shot. 45 minutes into the game, Teo Jerardo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Higinio Aureo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-3 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Julian Bartoleme to strike the kick off in the second half. Huanguelén's Hugo Urre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angel Bilbo in the 52nd minute of play. Victorino Paublo took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hugo Urre. Hugo Urre dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. After 60 played minutes Defensores de Alberdi got a freekick which was hit by Epifanio Oliverio. When Norberto Arce fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Huanguelén's protests and gave Norberto Arce a yellow card for diving instead. The Defensores de Alberdi players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
