Sportivo Avellaneda's attentive Damaso Piarres managed to snatch the ball when Santiago Beltxe made a throw-in in the 27th minute of the game. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Sportivo Avellaneda's goalkeeper Gaspar Playo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 40th minute of the game, Ruperto Satordi landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. 40 minutes into the game, Ciriaco Vargas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciriaco Vargas in the 47th minute of play forced Sportivo Avellaneda's goalkeeper Gaspar Playo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ciriaco Vargas to strike the kick off in the second half. Gaspar Playo acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 55th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Santiago Beltxe. Bernardo Artizar might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gaspar Playo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bernardo Artizar ran back to his position shaking his head. Sportivo Avellaneda's Gaspar Playo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Frances in the 70th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Oscar Frances got free with Gaspar Playo in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Damaso Piarres hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. When Damaso Piarres fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sportivo Avellaneda's protests and gave Damaso Piarres a yellow card for diving instead. Gaspar Playo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciriaco Vargas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Barrancas f.c's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luciano Gutierrez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2.
