Wilfredo Fortun's late challenge caught a Pico Fútbol Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wilfredo Fortun helped the player get up and apologised. 19 minutes into the game, one of Los Caraduras F.C:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Lázaro Valente received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Gino Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 31 minutes into the match, Pico Fútbol Club's goal looked a bit too open when Lisandro Lano came free, but Gino Santana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gino Santana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lázaro Valente in the 33rd minute of play. Marco Frasco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ovidio Bermund read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. In the 35th minute, Elias Sotil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ovidio Bermund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgardo Rivero, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Lázaro Valente sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lázaro Valente recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Edgardo Rivero made the kick off in the second half. If Edgardo Rivero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 55 minutes into the match, Los Caraduras F.C's Elias Sotil sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gino Santana narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 71st minute Lisandro Lano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gino Santana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 74th minute Marco Frasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidio Bermund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elias Sotil struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Gino Santana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Caraduras F.C. In the 81st minute Edgardo Rivero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidio Bermund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Lázaro Valente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Sotil in the 85th minute of play forced Pico Fútbol Club's goalkeeper Gino Santana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lázaro Valente scored 1-2 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gino Santana, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ovidio Bermund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgardo Rivero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Lisandro Lano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Caraduras F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Lisandro Lano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gino Santana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Los Caraduras F.C's Lázaro Valente got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Pico Fútbol Club fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Los Caraduras F.C were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
