The audience thought a goal was coming when Ezequiel Erruki got free with Americo Iliana in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 6 minutes into the game, Ruben Sol was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Estudioso FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Progreso the free kick. After a rather tough play, Estudioso FC's Ruben Sol got a free kick in the 6th minute. Ruben Sol kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Siro Jesco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Americo Iliana having to interfere. Florencio Cordareo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gilberto Lope recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gilberto Lope received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Justino Igon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 35 minutes, Diego Steven managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Estudioso FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diego Steven was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 37 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Progreso! Americo Iliana made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diego Steven in the 41st minute. 44 minutes into the match, Estudioso FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gilberto Lope came free, but Justino Igon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Siro Jesco was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Teodosio Arnas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Siro Jesco in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Americo Iliana saved Progreso from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Progreso's zone, Siro Jesco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Americo Iliana came out of the goal and Siro Jesco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 66 minutes into the match, Progreso's Gaston Piorno sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Justino Igon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 67 minutes into the match, Estudioso FC's goalkeeper Justino Igon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilberto Lope. Gilberto Lope could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Justino Igon made a huge save. If Gilberto Lope had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 1-0 became the score in the 81st minute when Siro Jesco elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Ruben Sol was shown his second yellow card after 83 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Estudioso FC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Ruben Sol hit a great ball. 86 minutes into the match, Estudioso FC's goalkeeper Justino Igon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilberto Lope. If Diego Steven had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Americo Iliana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Steven in the 94th minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Diego Steven got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
