The supporters of Pampita booed when Starship Troopers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amancio Joseph didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ramon Gentza charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ramon Gentza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 6th minute, Ramon Gentza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Silvestre Oso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramon Gentza in the 9th minute of play. Silvestre Oso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anier Beltxe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anier Beltxe blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Silvestre Oso having to make a save. 26 minutes into the match, Starship Troopers's goal looked a bit too open when Ramon Gentza came free, but Silvestre Oso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Silvestre Oso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anier Beltxe in the 30th minute of the match. Romeo Giraldo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Gualterio Nicholas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 38 minutes, Anier Beltxe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pampita's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anier Beltxe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Starship Troopers players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Pampita were winning 0-1.

After 55 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Starship Troopers! Candido Libertad walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. When Arnoldo Gartxot fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Starship Troopers's protests and gave Arnoldo Gartxot a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Starship Troopers getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Arnoldo Gartxot hit a great ball. With a little luck, Starship Troopers's Silvestre Oso got control of the ball when Ciriaco Hernandez tried to sneak it across the goal line. Silvestre Oso made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Anier Beltxe sent off a good shot on target. Romeo Giraldo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Gualterio Nicholas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Romeo Giraldo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnoldo Gartxot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gualterio Nicholas having to interfere. 87 minutes into the game, Romeo Giraldo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Starship Troopers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pampita the free kick. In the 90th minute of the match Pampita got a corner. Starship Troopers's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Candido Libertad ran over to the corner to take the kick. If Ramon Gentza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Pampita players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
