Victorino Benvide hit a great ball. 26 minutes into the game, Garibaldi FC's Marcos Menendo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Maximo Gonchan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After having played for 29 minutes, Arnoldo Montel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Garibaldi FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnoldo Montel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 33rd minute, Marcos Menendo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Garibaldi FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. If Marcos Menendo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. Arnoldo Montel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximo Gonchan having to interfere. Maximo Gonchan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norberto Olo, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erubiel Martxot to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Arnoldo Montel notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Salto's Maximo Gonchan. Maximo Gonchan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Garibaldi FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
