Estudiantes's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Adan Harriet ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on La Gagoneta FC's corner Adan Harriet fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Domingos Firme quite easily take care of the ball. Mariano Cidro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 17th minute, Estudiantes's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Thor Husøy fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The supporters of Estudiantes booed when La Gagoneta FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alonzo Florian didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cayetano Pudes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andres Beltxe having to interfere. Andres Beltxe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cayetano Pudes in the 30th minute of play. Thor Husøy who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Domingos Firme when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Estudiantes's Sebastian Olivar got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thor Husøy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Domingos Firme made a huge save. Andres Beltxe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cayetano Pudes, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cayetano Pudes in the 42nd minute of play forced La Gagoneta FC's goalkeeper Andres Beltxe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nigel Cochrane took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Domingos Firme. Domingos Firme dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arnoldo Vitin to make the kick off. If Thor Husøy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adan Harriet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Domingos Firme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 69th minute, Thor Husøy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 70th minute, Cirilo Ferman made a precise shot to the right of Domingos Firme. Estudiantes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Thor Husøy put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Domingos Firme. Thor Husøy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Domingos Firme having to interfere. A collision led to La Gagoneta FC getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Rosendo Iruinea hit a great ball. In the 94thth minute of the game Thor Husøy who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Estudiantes's Domingos Firme was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Estudiantes defense, Angelo Nerio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Domingos Firme. The Estudiantes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Domingos Firme should have stopped the shot.
