After a rather tough play, Zapiola AFC's Eduardo Goito got a free kick in the 17th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severiano Arotza in the 19th minute of play forced Zapiola AFC's goalkeeper Israel Cruz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 19 minutes into the game, when Matias Rameriz put in a rough tackle. In the 19th minute, one of Zapiola AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Zapiola AFC. Marcos Omero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Israel Cruz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Arnaldo Alonso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. tigres's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Claudio Mouricio in the 31st minute. A collision led to Zapiola AFC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Ildefonso Balendin hit a great ball. Melquiades Charro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mateo Palban in the 43rd minute of play. Mateo Palban fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Melquiades Charro having to interfere. Ildefonso Balendin came free in the 47th minute and tried to tip the ball over Melquiades Charro, but to the joy of tigres's supporters the ball went over. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Israel Cruz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Severiano Arotza went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Israel Cruz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Omero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Severiano Arotza got free with Israel Cruz in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduardo Goito in the 85th minute of play forced tigres's goalkeeper Melquiades Charro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 86 minutes into the match, tigres's goal looked a bit too open when Mateo Palban came free, but Melquiades Charro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zapiola AFC's Artemio Videl got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Zapiola AFC booed when tigres was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernan Vedillo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 94 minutes into the match, tigres's goal looked a bit too open when Mateo Palban came free, but Melquiades Charro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
