When Geronimo Ugaitz fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Los Diablos Rojos's protests and gave Geronimo Ugaitz a yellow card for diving instead. Geronimo Ugaitz kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Benedicto Barea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jacinto Polo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isaac Rico, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 16 minutes into the match, Club Catigas's goalkeeper Joaquin Jakue had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Igor Cilio. In the 18th minute Benedicto Barea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacinto Polo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Los Diablos Rojos's Jacinto Polo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaac Rico in the 23rd minute of play. After 24 played minutes Los Diablos Rojos got a freekick which was hit by Mario Hori. Benedicto Barea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Jacinto Polo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, Club Catigas's goal looked a bit too open when Geronimo Ugaitz came free, but Joaquin Jakue reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nicanor Firman's late challenge caught a Club Catigas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nicanor Firman helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Los Diablos Rojos getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Nicanor Firman hit a great ball. Los Diablos Rojos's Jacinto Polo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaac Rico in the 38th minute of play. Mario Hori blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joaquin Jakue having to make a save. Joaquin Jakue didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mario Hori went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Geronimo Ugaitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 48th match minute, Club Catigas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horacio Chaime to maneuver through the defense. Joaquin Jakue acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 49th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Jose Piearres.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Geronimo Ugaitz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Igor Cilio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Isaac Rico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hermengildo Hibai's late challenge caught a Club Catigas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hermengildo Hibai helped the player get up and apologised. In the 58th minute, Hermengildo Hibai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Isaac Rico managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Catigas's supporters rose to their feet, but Isaac Rico was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacinto Polo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 63 minutes into the match, Club Catigas's goal looked a bit too open when Geronimo Ugaitz came free, but Joaquin Jakue reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Los Diablos Rojos's zone, Isaac Rico stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacinto Polo came out of the goal and Isaac Rico tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isaac Rico in the 75th minute of play forced Los Diablos Rojos's goalkeeper Jacinto Polo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Geronimo Ugaitz struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Joaquin Jakue didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Diablos Rojos. After having played for 90 minutes, Isaac Rico managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Catigas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isaac Rico was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 94 minutes, Nestor Clemencin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Catigas and the Los Diablos Rojos players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 94th minute, Nestor Clemencin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Los Diablos Rojos had won after a very even match.
