Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Cesar Casado made the kick off which started today's match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alfredo Rik during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of River Plate booed when Galga United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Rik didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arturo Iliana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximino Cordaro having to interfere. 12 minutes into the match, Galga United's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelino Santos came free, but Clodoveo Betadur reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Laureano Mero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Melquiades Patxi fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River Plate's protests and gave Melquiades Patxi a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Galga United booed when River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Melquiades Patxi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clodoveo Betadur didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Laureano Mero went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Through an outstanding action, after 24 minutes, Maximino Cordaro successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Clodoveo Betadur came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by River Plate's Marcelino Santos. But to his dismay, Marcelino Santos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Maximino Cordaro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cesar Casado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes into the match, River Plate's goalkeeper Maximino Cordaro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arturo Iliana. Maximino Cordaro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cesar Casado in the 36th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Arturo Iliana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Galga United's supporters rose to their feet, but Arturo Iliana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maximino Cordaro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 38th match minute, Galga United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Iliana to maneuver through the defense. 41 minutes into the match, Arturo Iliana notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of River Plate's Maximino Cordaro. Maximino Cordaro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcelino Santos to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Cesar Casado came free, but Maximino Cordaro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 61 minutes, Marcelino Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River Plate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcelino Santos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Galga United getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Paulo Gonzo hit a great ball. Arnoldo Cedro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Maximino Cordaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Galga United's Cesar Casado in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye River Plate's goalie prevented a goal. 72 minutes into the game, Galga United's Arturo Iliana nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Maximino Cordaro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. In the 76th minute, Arturo Iliana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Galga United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cesar Casado in the 79th minute of play forced River Plate's goalkeeper Maximino Cordaro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 79 minutes into the match, Cesar Casado had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Maximino Cordaro. River Plate's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cesar Casado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-3. Marcelino Santos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Clodoveo Betadur made a huge save. In the 84th minute Cesar Casado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximino Cordaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcelino Santos struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Clodoveo Betadur didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for River Plate. Galga United's Clodoveo Betadur proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Galga United from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Galga United's Arnoldo Cedro got a free kick in the 87th minute. In the 91st play minute Marcelino Santos came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Clodoveo Betadur. 5-4. Many of River Plate's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. River Plate may have spent more time on the ball, but Galga United were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
