Isidro Naelio charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After a defensive mix-up in MELOS FC's zone, Zacarias Fernandes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Casimiro Corderall came out of the goal and Zacarias Fernandes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Isidro Naelio came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the MELOS FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Isidro Naelio couldn't finish the play. In the 44th minute, Raíces's Edelmiro Guerau dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

MELOS FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Isidro Naelio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mariano Cesario breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Raíces getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Feliberto Telmo hit a great ball. 73 minutes in the game, Isidro Naelio dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 78th minute of the game. One of MELOS FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Raíces:s goal. In the 81st minute there was a penalty for Raíces. Segundo Erasto stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Casimiro Corderall. 3-1. In the 89th minute, Julio Osorio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 91 played minutes, Raíces's Segundo Erasto shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Casimiro Corderall came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Raíces reached it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Isidro Naelio got free with Mariano Cesario in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. MELOS FC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Raíces had won, even though MELOS FC had held more of the ball.
