The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the match, Despertador FC's goalkeeper Delmar Gizon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mauricio Roldan. After having played for 3 minutes, Tadeo Acosta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Despertador FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tadeo Acosta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, HiguainFC's Benito Lalla got a free kick in the 5th minute. HiguainFC's Nicolas Felipillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tadeo Acosta in the 7th minute of play. The Despertador FC fans' excitement grew in the 11th match minute when Despertador FC's Tadeo Acosta looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 18th minute, Jonatan Remicio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Delmar Gizon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaudencio Nerio, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Dante Hunfredo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Delmar Gizon made a huge save. Nicolas Felipillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tadeo Acosta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Filomeno Dominguez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicolas Felipillo having to interfere. Tadeo Acosta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tadeo Acosta in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicolas Felipillo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 35 minutes into the game, Tadeo Acosta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Nicolas Felipillo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With an all-out effort, HiguainFC's Delmar Gizon threw himself towards the right post 40 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gaudencio Nerio, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Nicolas Felipillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tadeo Acosta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Tadeo Acosta put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Nicolas Felipillo. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauricio Roldan in the 51st minute of play forced Despertador FC's goalkeeper Delmar Gizon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Delmar Gizon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benito Lalla in the 60th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Tadeo Acosta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nicolas Felipillo was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. If Jonatan Remicio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabio Otoniel's late challenge caught a Despertador FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabio Otoniel helped the player get up and apologised. In the 70th minute, one of HiguainFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for HiguainFC. Jonatan Remicio hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After 78 played minutes HiguainFC got a freekick which was hit by Gaudencio Nerio. The audience was convinced that Tadeo Acosta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nicolas Felipillo was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. After 80 played minutes HiguainFC got a freekick which was hit by Dante Hunfredo. Francisco Gil kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Nicolas Felipillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tadeo Acosta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. HiguainFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 90th minute, when Tadeo Acosta scored to the left of an out of position Nicolas Felipillo, making the score, 1-6. 97 minutes into the match, Benito Lalla notched a goal, 2-6, to the right of Despertador FC's Delmar Gizon. Delmar Gizon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
