Marcelino Gaitano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Patricio Vasco made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Venancio Euloxu sent off a good shot on target. Patricio Vasco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Albino Ticho's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. Paolo Txordon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 42 minutes into the match, Gorchs AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Raimundo Sanchez came free, but Marcelino Gaitano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Raimundo Sanchez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Albino Ticho in the 89th minute of play forced Club Sporting Punta Alta's goalkeeper Patricio Vasco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paolo Txordon got free with Marcelino Gaitano in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Club Sporting Punta Alta eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
