Smith's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Magic FC the free kick. After 10 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Smith! Mario Cordeal had in the 11thth minute some difficulties stopping Rodolfo Astrada's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Gregorio James took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dionisio Orlin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Romulo Neto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Mario Cordeal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mario Cordeal made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Rodolfo Astrada sent off a good shot on target. Mario Cordeal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romulo Neto in the 21st minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Josué Quintela took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Mario Cordeal to make any attempt to save it. Rodolfo Astrada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mario Cordeal having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Smith's goalkeeper Mario Cordeal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
