Miguel Heriberto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Saul Regis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Heriberto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Curuzú's Saul Regis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evaristo Diagur in the 29th minute of play. Leonides Turi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leo Txartiko in the 43rd minute of play. In the 44th minute, Hector Presebal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 45th minute, Leo Txartiko got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Guaberto Ayala came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the RACING CLUB fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guaberto Ayala couldn't finish the play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
