After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Charrúa's zone, Bernardo Guillem stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elias Geleberto came out of the goal and Bernardo Guillem tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sarmiento's Edelmiro Oso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amadeo Tino in the 8th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Bernardo Guillem dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Elias Geleberto, 1-0. Bernardo Guillem might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Elias Geleberto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bernardo Guillem ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Sarmiento booed when Deportivo Charrúa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Javier Pedroso didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Bernardo Guillem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 25 in the game by Bernardo Guillem from a close distance when the talented Elias Geleberto managed to make a qualified save. Deportivo Charrúa's players were relieved. Flavio Gutxi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. But to his dismay, Adan Dolfos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Edelmiro Oso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amadeo Tino in the 36th minute of play. Deportivo Charrúa's Amadeo Tino got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Flavio Gutxi put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Edelmiro Oso. Victoriano Torres charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Victoriano Torres the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Victoriano Torres kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Flavio Gutxi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Edelmiro Oso made a huge save. Tiburcio Ortle kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Edelmiro Oso didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 56th minute, which inside left pole to 2-2. Elias Geleberto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adan Dolfos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elias Geleberto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adan Dolfos in the 62nd minute of the match. When Bernardo Guillem came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Sarmiento fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernardo Guillem couldn't finish the play. Jeronimo Berdaitz kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Tiburcio Ortle hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Deportivo Charrúa's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Leonel Cuartio in the 78th minute. Edelmiro Oso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amadeo Tino in the 83rd minute of the match. If Flavio Gutxi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. It was Leonel Cuartio who took care of the corner kick. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
