Thanks to some nice moves Eugenio Mederi could shoot a difficult shot in the 5th minute, which Julian Che however easily saved by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Tarragona FC's zone, Victorino Satordi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julian Che came out of the goal and Victorino Satordi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tobias Ofelio kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. In the 13th minute Victorino Satordi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julian Che saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Arnoldo Baumar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnoldo Baumar in the 26th minute of play forced Rio Cuarto's goalkeeper Esteban Ramone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diego Eleder hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Arnoldo Baumar put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Esteban Ramone. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Christian Jon in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julian Che saved Tarragona FC from getting behind. After 44 played minutes Rio Cuarto got a freekick which was hit by Ildefonso Arias. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Christian Jon to make the kick off. Florentino Eneas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ciriaco Aurre hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Julian Che showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Jon, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 73rd minute, Victorino Satordi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Esteban Ramone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnoldo Baumar in the 74th minute of the match. Julian Che took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victorino Satordi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julian Che tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rio Cuarto walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
