The tension between the Rio Cuarto and the Ciénega FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Donato Arnalt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Jon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st match minute, Ciénega FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gualterio Giraldo to maneuver through the defense. Claudio Criston missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 23 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Donato Arnalt right hand side. In the 24th minute, Genaro Quintin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Christian Jon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Arnalt having to interfere. Jacinto Bartoleme charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jacinto Bartoleme the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jacinto Bartoleme kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Jon in the 34th minute of play forced Ciénega FC's goalkeeper Donato Arnalt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Gualterio Giraldo fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ciénega FC's protests and gave Gualterio Giraldo a yellow card for diving instead. Ciénega FC's Donato Arnalt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Ciénega FC from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Christian Jon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rio Cuarto's supporters rose to their feet, but Christian Jon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donato Arnalt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Christian Jon made a kick off. Rio Cuarto's Esteban Ramone proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Rio Cuarto from getting a goal against them. In the 64th match minute, Ciénega FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gualterio Giraldo to maneuver through the defense. Ildefonso Arias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Arnalt having to interfere. In the 71st minute Christian Jon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donato Arnalt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Rio Cuarto booed when Ciénega FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacinto Bartoleme didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ciénega FC's Donato Arnalt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christian Jon in the 72nd minute of play. If Evaristo Birila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Donato Arnalt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Victorino Satordi's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Donato Arnalt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christian Jon in the 89th minute of the match. If Santo Ted had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Rio Cuarto fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ciénega FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
