Spectators: 7250 (Terracing: 5439, Seating: 1667, VIP seats: 144) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Siro Jatsu kicked off to start the match. When Siro Jatsu came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Villarreal FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Siro Jatsu couldn't finish the play. Cayetano Tajo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Julian Christobal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 14th minute, Juan Ramone hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 14 minutes into the match, Gardey's Feliciano Aznar broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 21st minute Cayetano Tajo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julian Christobal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Cayetano Tajo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Florencio Victoro might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zacarias Fidele. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Florencio Victoro ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Villarreal FC's goalkeeper Julian Christobal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Benedicto Cordarrel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julian Christobal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Gardey's Zacarias Fidele proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Gardey from getting a goal against them. 40 minutes into the game, Rene Telesforo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gardey's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Villarreal FC the free kick. The supporters of Villarreal FC booed when Gardey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rene Telesforo didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Villarreal FC's Siro Jatsu in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gardey's goalie prevented a goal. Florencio Victoro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Julian Christobal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedicto Cordarrel in the 52nd minute of play. If Cayetano Tajo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 55th match minute, Villarreal FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Ramone to maneuver through the defense. After 56 minutes of play, Gardey's Benedicto Cordarrel made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julian Christobal was left in no man's land by his defense there! Villarreal FC's Julian Christobal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cayetano Tajo in the 61st minute of play. After recieving a nice pass, Gardey's Feliciano Aznar tried to score from far away in the 68th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When Florencio Victoro came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Villarreal FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Florencio Victoro couldn't finish the play. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julian Christobal, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.
