Severo Hitzeder's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Patricio Cordeara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fausto Txanton in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Patricio Cordeara saved Defensores de Cervantes from getting behind. In the 24th match minute, Defensores de Cervantes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Apolo Berdaitz to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Defensores de Cervantes getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Marciano Fraco hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severo Hitzeder in the 57th minute of play forced Defensores de Cervantes's goalkeeper Patricio Cordeara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilberto Mikeldi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nemesio Primeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
