Spectators: 7259 (Terracing: 5446, Seating: 1669, VIP seats: 144) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Gaston Gonsalve kicked off to start the match. A hard shot 3 in the game by Wilfredo Chale from a close distance when the talented Leopoldo Eleder managed to make a qualified save. Defensa y Justicia's players were relieved. With his leg Leopoldo Eleder managed to avoid a goal in the 5thth minute, when ROMAN-TICOS's Wilfredo Chale fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 8 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Defensa y Justicia! Leopoldo Eleder had in the 10thth minute some difficulties stopping Ambrosio Dominix's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. When Israel Paz fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Defensa y Justicia's protests and gave Israel Paz a yellow card for diving instead. In the 13th match minute, Defensa y Justicia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Israel Paz to maneuver through the defense. Roque Nicholas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leopoldo Eleder having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Defensa y Justicia's Manuel Donostia got a free kick in the 17th minute. Roque Nicholas struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Leopoldo Eleder didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ROMAN-TICOS. Roque Nicholas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Leopoldo Eleder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roque Nicholas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when ROMAN-TICOS's Roque Nicholas in the 24th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Leopoldo Eleder was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Defensa y Justicia through an amazing save. A collision led to Defensa y Justicia getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Israel Paz hit a great ball. After 27 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for ROMAN-TICOS! Wilfredo Chale's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leopoldo Eleder read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. ROMAN-TICOS's Wilfredo Chale got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of ROMAN-TICOS booed when Defensa y Justicia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Donostia didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Froilan Baudelio managed to get in a good position for a shot. ROMAN-TICOS's supporters rose to their feet, but Froilan Baudelio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leopoldo Eleder breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The ROMAN-TICOS players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Defensa y Justicia were winning 0-1.

Silvano Sauveur tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Leopoldo Eleder. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-1 in the 52nd minute. In the 55th minute Wilfredo Chale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leopoldo Eleder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. ROMAN-TICOS's Wilfredo Chale got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 66 minutes, Romulo Goren successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Leopoldo Eleder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilfredo Chale in the 67th minute of play. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Defensa y Justicia's goalkeeper Leopoldo Eleder, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 72 minutes, Manuel Donostia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Defensa y Justicia and the ROMAN-TICOS players grew even worse after the yellow card. Manuel Donostia kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. After 73 played minutes, ROMAN-TICOS's Ambrosio Dominix shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Leopoldo Eleder came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in ROMAN-TICOS reached it. Leopoldo Eleder stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wilfredo Chale's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. The audience was convinced that Wilfredo Chale's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leopoldo Eleder was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. In the 79th minute, ROMAN-TICOS's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Alejandro Liberto fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 80th minute, Froilan Baudelio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. ROMAN-TICOS's Romulo Goren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaston Gonsalve in the 82nd minute of play. If Gaston Gonsalve had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Romulo Goren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaston Gonsalve, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Gaston Gonsalve received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Romulo Goren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 92 minutes of play, ROMAN-TICOS's Roque Nicholas made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leopoldo Eleder was left in no man's land by his defense there! Defensa y Justicia's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
