Defensa y Justicia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gaston Gonsalve was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fernando Kusko's late challenge caught a Defensa y Justicia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fernando Kusko helped the player get up and apologised. In the 12th minute, Fernando Kusko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Alejandro Liberto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elias Alonso kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. When Gaston Gonsalve came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Defensa y Justicia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gaston Gonsalve couldn't finish the play. In the 31st minute, Fausto Fonso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leopoldo Eleder was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. A collision led to Defensa y Justicia getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Romulo Bernabel hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Atletico de Rafaela's zone, Alejandro Liberto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gaston Ekain came out of the goal and Alejandro Liberto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gaston Ekain came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Defensa y Justicia's Alejandro Liberto. But to his dismay, Alejandro Liberto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. When Defensa y Justicia's Alejandro Liberto in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atletico de Rafaela's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaston Gonsalve in the 49th minute of play forced Atletico de Rafaela's goalkeeper Gaston Ekain to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Alejandro Liberto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Gaston Ekain tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Atletico de Rafaela's Fernando Kusko got his second yellow card of the match in the 64th minute. The referee ordered Fernando Kusko off the ground. After recieving a nice pass, Defensa y Justicia's Ismael Ermengol tried to score from far away in the 65th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Fausto Fonso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leopoldo Eleder having to interfere. Gaston Gonsalve struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Gaston Ekain didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Defensa y Justicia. After a defensive mix-up in Atletico de Rafaela's zone, Alejandro Liberto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gaston Ekain came out of the goal and Alejandro Liberto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alejandro Libertos short, quick shot in the 81stth minute got Gaston Ekain to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Defensa y Justicia's Alejandro Liberto managed to work through Atletico de Rafaela's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Alejandro Liberto dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. 1-2 became the score in the 89th minute when Gaston Gonsalve elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Alejandro Liberto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Gaston Ekain tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Defensa y Justicia's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
