Santiago del Estero F.C's Ramon Manuelo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Delmar Boniel in the 14th minute of play. In the 16th minute, Domingos Bernat got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Santiago del Estero F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tumbaya FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Santiago del Estero F.C's Hipolito Obano got a free kick in the 45th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adan Otoniel to make the kick off. Adan Otoniel struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Fermin Cedro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santiago del Estero F.C. 71 minutes into the match, Tumbaya FC's goal looked a bit too open when Adan Otoniel came free, but Fermin Cedro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Delmar Boniel kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Urbano Lon in the 77th minute of play forced Santiago del Estero F.C's goalkeeper Ramon Manuelo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adan Otoniel charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adan Otoniel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 96th minute, Adan Otoniel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
