Caute FC's Ceferino Ulizes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cayetano Obano in the 20th minute of play. 27 minutes in the game, Tomás Stanislao fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Fabricio Favila having to interfere. Marcos Cugat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabricio Favila having to interfere. After having played for 47 minutes, Marcos Cugat managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caute FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcos Cugat was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Cayetano Obano made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of León F.C booed when Caute FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Melquiades Luzea didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Cayetano Obano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice moves Edgardo Pueblo could shoot a difficult shot in the 60th minute, which Ceferino Ulizes however easily saved by the left post. Fabricio Favila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcos Cugat in the 63rd minute of play. In the 68th minute, Marcos Cugat got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Caute FC's zone, Cayetano Obano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ceferino Ulizes came out of the goal and Cayetano Obano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dario Cordera hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match.
