The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Albano Santio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 18th match minute, Famaillá was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaspar Amaya to maneuver through the defense. If Marciano Cloyo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute Marciano Cloyo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albano Santio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guaberto Matei hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Famaillá. The referee gave Uspallata a penalty, 84 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Eliseo Sotero, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Famaillá's Albano Santio. 0-1. Esteban Carlomagno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Lluis having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esteban Carlomagno in the 96th minute of play forced Uspallata's goalkeeper Felix Lluis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felix Lluis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Esteban Carlomagno's shot from short distance in the 98th minute. Uspallata's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
