Newells's Basilio Tiso managed to work through Frizze Blue's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Basilio Tiso dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Sebastian Mano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Rene Quentin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Laureano Burni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rene Quentin having to interfere. In the 14th minute Laureano Burni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rene Quentin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Delmiro Gomez charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Delmiro Gomez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 18th match minute, Frizze Blue was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Delmiro Gomez to maneuver through the defense. Camilo Thomas, 19 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Frizze Blue's zone, Nicasio Poncio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernardo Bibiano came out of the goal and Nicasio Poncio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 31st match minute, Newells was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basilio Tiso to maneuver through the defense. 34 minutes into the match, Frizze Blue's goalkeeper Bernardo Bibiano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Basilio Tiso. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Jonatan Columbo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Frizze Blue's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonatan Columbo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rene Quentin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 46th match minute, Frizze Blue was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciriaco Garcia to maneuver through the defense. With his leg Bernardo Bibiano managed to avoid a goal in the 48thth minute, when Newells's Basilio Tiso fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Nicasio Poncio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newells's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicasio Poncio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernardo Bibiano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Newells's Rene Quentin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laureano Burni in the 62nd minute of play. After 63 played minutes Newells got a freekick which was hit by Filiberto Nicholas. Rene Quentin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laureano Burni, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Rene Quentin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laureano Burni in the 73rd minute of play. 74 minutes into the match, Newells's goalkeeper Rene Quentin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jonatan Columbo. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Newells's goalkeeper Rene Quentin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Newells's zone, Jonatan Columbo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rene Quentin came out of the goal and Jonatan Columbo tried to chip the ball over his head. In the 87th minute Basilio Tiso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Bibiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 96th minute Sebastian Mano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rene Quentin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonatan Columbo struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Rene Quentin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Frizze Blue. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
