The supporters of Medrano AFC booed when Cochrane was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isidoro Beltza didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eriberto Playo in the 32nd minute of play forced Cochrane's goalkeeper Augustas Damazeckas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Blas Blasco fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Medrano AFC's protests and gave Blas Blasco a yellow card for diving instead.
