Raimundo Francis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geronimo Polentzi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Geronimo Polentzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Natalio Chayo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raimundo Francis having to interfere. In the 23rd minute Faustino Chale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raimundo Francis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Monaco's Raimundo Francis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruben Gonza in the 26th minute of play. Raimundo Francis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuel Olivar in the 27th minute of play. After 27 played minutes Monaco got a freekick which was hit by Saverio Cordario. In the 28th minute, Geronimo Polentzi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 30th minute Samuel Olivar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raimundo Francis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raimundo Francis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Faustino Chale in the 32nd minute of play. In the 34th minute, Honorato Errolan made a precise shot to the right of Raimundo Francis. Monaco's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Samuel Olivar managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Scaloneta's supporters rose to their feet, but Samuel Olivar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raimundo Francis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The corner led La Scaloneta's Geronimo Polentzi to fire away a dangerous shot which Raimundo Francis despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After having played for 47 minutes, Samuel Olivar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Scaloneta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Samuel Olivar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Saverio Cordario made a kick off. La Scaloneta's Samuel Olivar got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruben Gonza in the 53rd minute of play forced Monaco's goalkeeper Raimundo Francis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ruben Gonza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Raimundo Francis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Raimundo Francis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geronimo Polentzi in the 57th minute of play. After 61 minutes of play, La Scaloneta's Ruben Gonza made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Raimundo Francis was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Geronimo Polentzi managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Scaloneta's supporters rose to their feet, but Geronimo Polentzi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raimundo Francis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Geronimo Polentzi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Raimundo Francis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geronimo Polentzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. A collision led to Monaco getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Saverio Cordario hit a great ball. If Samuel Olivar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Geronimo Polentzi came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the La Scaloneta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geronimo Polentzi couldn't finish the play. The Monaco fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. La Scaloneta were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
