After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Gabriel Batistuta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Río Luján's supporters rose to their feet, but Gabriel Batistuta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Angel Txanton might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Evelio Ikatz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Angel Txanton ran back to his position shaking his head. Gabriel Batistuta struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Victorio Quinten didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlético Río Luján. Pedro Igon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Atlético Río Luján fans cheered their team off the field, for while Holmberg had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
