Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Rueda's Eriberto Jaen started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A very good chance for a goal. 22 minutes into the game, Ubaldo Jobo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zona Pedernera's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rueda the free kick. Marcial Vincente showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eriberto Jaen, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Zona Pedernera's Jacques Boscher got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 42nd minute Arturo Nazario shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcial Vincente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Cesar Francho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Eriberto Jaen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcial Vincente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfonso Aurken in the 64th minute of play. Arnulfo Madaleno didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 65th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. When the final whistle went the supporters of Zona Pedernera were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Rueda side.
