Arnulfo Madaleno came out and tried to block the shot, but Alonzo Quinito slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 16th minute. In the 19th minute of the match, Alonzo Quinito tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Arnulfo Madaleno saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of Atletico River Gold booed when Rueda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enrique Giro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arnulfo Madaleno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cecilio Botello in the 22nd minute of play. When Alonzo Quinito came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Atletico River Gold fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alonzo Quinito couldn't finish the play. Arnulfo Madaleno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alonzo Quinito, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. After a rather tough play, Atletico River Gold's Delmiro Rosio got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After having played for 55 minutes, Eriberto Jaen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rueda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eriberto Jaen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 60 played minutes Rueda got a freekick which was hit by Arturo Nazario. After 61 played minutes Atletico River Gold got a freekick which was hit by Cecilio Botello. If Alfonso Aurken had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anastasio Jokin's shot from long distance in the 67th minute was not bad at all, but Atletico River Gold's Maximino Rudolfo knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. Eriberto Jaen hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Arnulfo Madaleno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alonzo Quinito in the 80th minute of play. In the 81st minute Eriberto Jaen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximino Rudolfo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Eriberto Jaen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfonso Aurken received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Maximino Rudolfo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Atletico River Gold made a substitution. Hilario Emmanuel replaced Alonzo Quinito. In a very dangerous position, a player in Rueda fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 91st minute. Penalty! Rueda:s Arnulfo Madaleno showed great skill when he stopped Reynaldo Batista:s penalty. Hilario Emmanuel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arnulfo Madaleno read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play.
