With an extended leg and a bit of luck Modesto Oihenarte prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bebeto Catarinense did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Modesto Oihenarte 5 minutes into the match. When the match clock showed 7 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Bebeto Catarinense sped through Clun Atletico River Plate's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Modesto Oihenarte. With his leg Modesto Oihenarte managed to avoid a goal in the 10thth minute, when Mogigasta's Bebeto Catarinense fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 16th minute, Mogigasta's Cecilio Birila ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Modesto Oihenarte. Modesto Oihenarte yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Jimeno Sarracino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 22nd match minute, Clun Atletico River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pastor Kusko to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th minute of the match Mogigasta got a corner. Clun Atletico River Plate's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Virgilio Gurutz ran over to the corner to take the kick. Constantino Jesco charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Constantino Jesco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Mogigasta booed when Clun Atletico River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Constantino Jesco didn't get a good kick on the ball. 36 minutes into the game, Elvio Figueroa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Clun Atletico River Plate's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mogigasta the free kick. A collision led to Clun Atletico River Plate getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Francisco Bertin hit a great ball. After 42 minutes, Bebeto Catarinense made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Clun Atletico River Plate's Modesto Oihenarte tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. A hard shot 46 in the game by Bebeto Catarinense from a close distance when the talented Modesto Oihenarte managed to make a qualified save. Clun Atletico River Plate's players were relieved.

The wind increased when Elvio Figueroa made the kick off in the second half. Modesto Oihenarte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgilio Gurutz in the 67th minute of the match. 72 minutes into the match, Mogigasta's goal looked a bit too open when Elvio Figueroa came free, but Filiberto Otoniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Clun Atletico River Plate's Modesto Oihenarte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bebeto Catarinense in the 74th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Bebeto Catarinense made a precise shot to the right of Modesto Oihenarte. Clun Atletico River Plate's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. After a defensive mix-up in Clun Atletico River Plate's zone, Jacinto Cortez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Modesto Oihenarte came out of the goal and Jacinto Cortez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mogigasta's Ernesto Berto got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cecilio Birila in the 85th minute of play forced Clun Atletico River Plate's goalkeeper Modesto Oihenarte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Francisco Bertin during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 88th minute, Francisco Bertin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 89th minute of the match Virgilio Gurutz shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Modesto Oihenarte showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Mogigasta's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
