In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gil AFC's goalkeeper Hermengildo Tohias, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 21 minutes into the match, Covadonga's Carolo Johans sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hermengildo Tohias narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Carolo Johans blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hermengildo Tohias having to make a save. Guaberto Sazon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermengildo Tohias having to interfere. When Covadonga's Carolo Johans in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gil AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Hermengildo Tohias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carolo Johans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Saturnino Sansone was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Covadonga's zone, Saturnino Sansone stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredo Estebe came out of the goal and Saturnino Sansone tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aurelio Txurio kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Gil AFC's zone, Carolo Johans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hermengildo Tohias came out of the goal and Carolo Johans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Saturnino Sansone succeeded in the game's 76th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. Guaberto Sazon took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hermengildo Tohias. Hermengildo Tohias dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 86th minute Carolo Johans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hermengildo Tohias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carolo Johans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Hermengildo Tohias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carolo Johans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermengildo Tohias having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carolo Johans in the 94th minute of play forced Gil AFC's goalkeeper Hermengildo Tohias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th match minute, Gil AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jairo Bonadona to maneuver through the defense. There was no doubt that Covadonga were the better team. Covadonga's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
