With an all-out effort, AFC Richmond's Alberto Di Matteo threw himself towards the right post 29 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Adolfo Damario, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind El Eje del Norte's goalkeeper Alberto Di Matteo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 33rd minute of the match, Aurelio Osoitz tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Alberto Di Matteo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. El Eje del Norte's defense didn't have a chance, in the 37th minute, when Adolfo Damario scored to the left of an out of position Alberto Di Matteo, making the score, 2-0. Through an outstanding action, after 43 minutes, Alberto Di Matteo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Iker Nahia hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in El Eje del Norte's zone, Gabriel Jesco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alberto Di Matteo came out of the goal and Gabriel Jesco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Adolfo Damario kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alberto Di Matteo. That made the score 3-0 in the 47 minute of play.

In the 53rd minute, Carolo Conrao made a precise shot to the right of Alberto Di Matteo. El Eje del Norte's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Gabriel Jesco hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. A collision led to AFC Richmond getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Carolo Conrao hit a great ball. If Guido Naldo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carolo Conrao took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alberto Di Matteo. Alberto Di Matteo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Guido Naldo came free with the goalkeeper in the 77th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Florentino Alfonso could save by the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Victoriano Ferran in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alberto Di Matteo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adolfo Damario in the 97th minute of play forced El Eje del Norte's goalkeeper Alberto Di Matteo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. AFC Richmond were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of El Eje del Norte for a fine match.
