With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eulalio Gonsalvo in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcelo Mendiko saved Rinconadilla from getting behind. In the 21st minute, Artemio Nevada ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcelino Nel was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The audience cheered loudly when Ida Bagus Adrianto's long shot in the 28th minute became 2-1 when the ball went to the left of and passed Marcelo Mendiko. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Vladimiro Viviano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Defensores de Belgrano's supporters rose to their feet, but Vladimiro Viviano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelo Mendiko breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 36th minute, Eusébio Viana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Defensores de Belgrano fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Marcelo Mendiko made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eusébio Viana in the 40th minute. 44 minutes into the match, Eulalio Gonsalvo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Marcelo Mendiko, 4-1. With a little luck, Rinconadilla's Marcelo Mendiko got control of the ball when Batıhan Baysal tried to sneak it across the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-1.

Eulalio Gonsalvo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcelo Mendiko read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. In the 64th minute Eusébio Viana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Mendiko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcelo Mendiko was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marcelo Mendiko didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Flavio Laffitte went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 7-1 was the resulting score. After 85 minutes of play, Defensores de Belgrano's Eulalio Gonsalvo made it 8-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcelo Mendiko was left in no man's land by his defense there! Marcelino Nel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artemio Nevada, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Defensores de Belgrano's Teobaldo Txeru quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Roman Larra, made in the 94th minute of the game. Marcelo Mendiko didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eulalio Gonsalvo went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 9-1 was the resulting score. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Defensores de Belgrano fully deserved thier win.
