After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Hector Dei managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mataro AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hector Dei was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. 任铮昆 breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee ignored Mataro AFC's protests and gave Hector Dei a yellow card for diving instead. 41 minutes into the match, Lions Xion's goalkeeper 任铮昆 had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Apolo Rey. When Alfred Charlos fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lions Xion's protests and gave Alfred Charlos a yellow card for diving instead. Alfred Charlos hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The Mataro AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Lions Xion were winning 0-2.

Edgard Rodas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Sun Hai Zhou received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Edgard Rodas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Serafino Xacintu charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Serafino Xacintu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the match had been going on for 90 minutes, Lions Xion's Robert Lech got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Edgard Rodas. The crowd rose to their feet as Leopoldo Chan kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Edgard Rodas. That made the score 0-5 in the 97 minute of play. Lions Xion were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Mataro AFC's much stronger midfield.
