Lino Godoy charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lino Godoy the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 3 played minutes Monteverde got a freekick which was hit by Lino Godoy. Edgard Gartzen hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Los Monos's Benigno Salomone got control of the ball when Armando Umbruso tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 7th match minute, Los Monos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgard Gartzen to maneuver through the defense. Anastasio Garcia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 13 minutes, Marciano Intxixu made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Monteverde's Toby Gregg tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 15 minutes into the game, Edgard Panpili was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Los Monos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Monteverde the free kick. In the 15th minute, Edgard Panpili hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Toby Gregg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marciano Intxixu in the 22nd minute of play. Anastasio Garcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Toby Gregg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marciano Intxixu, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Casimiro Firman in the 30th minute of play forced Monteverde's goalkeeper Toby Gregg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Casimiro Firman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Monos's supporters rose to their feet, but Casimiro Firman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Toby Gregg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marciano Intxixu in the 34th minute of play forced Monteverde's goalkeeper Toby Gregg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th match minute, Los Monos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgard Panpili to maneuver through the defense. Anastasio Garcia did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Benigno Salomone 35 minutes into the match. Joaquin Cordarell hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute of the match, Armando Umbruso got a very nice opportunity to score, but Benigno Salomone was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Toby Gregg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Casimiro Firman in the 43rd minute of play. Armando Umbruso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marciano Intxixu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Anastasio Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. If Marciano Intxixu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Casimiro Firman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Augusto Gelacio during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 89th minute, Augusto Gelacio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Toby Gregg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ruperto Pirro in the 90th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Casimiro Firman got free with Toby Gregg in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Los Monos walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
