After having played for 25 minutes, Geronimo Maldonado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Devoto FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geronimo Maldonado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 27th match minute, Monserrat was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelino Gipuzkoa to maneuver through the defense. Geronimo Maldonado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Geronimo Maldonado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Geronimo Maldonado came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Devoto FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geronimo Maldonado couldn't finish the play. Monserrat's Leandro Bidun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Honorio Cefero in the 91st minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Leonel Txordon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elpidio Ursino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cecilio Gerazan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gilberto Oto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play.
