In the 4th minute of the match, Jose Figueroa got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cecilio Cordarrol was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Cecilio Cordarrol took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jose Figueroa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 9th minute, Narciso Jaizki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jose Figueroa succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 10th playminute. Jose Figueroa's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cecilio Cordarrol firmly grabbed it by the left post. 13 minutes into the game, one of Tobosy:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Agustin Pitin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agne Browall having to interfere. Cecilio Cordarrol showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amador Raymond in the 22nd minute of the match. Amador Raymond received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cecilio Cordarrol came out and tried to block the shot, but Amador Raymond slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 23rd minute. Jose Figueroa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Cecilio Cordarrol made a huge save. After having played for 29 minutes, Jose Figueroa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carlisle FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jose Figueroa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Carlisle FC booed when Tobosy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pablo Bingen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlisle FC's Amador Raymond got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 37 played minutes Carlisle FC got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Osasun. Agne Browall stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Agustin Pitin's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Cecilio Cordarrol showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amador Raymond, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Agustin Pitin to make the kick off. Cecilio Cordarrol showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amador Raymond, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jose Figueroa in the 58th minute of play forced Tobosy's goalkeeper Cecilio Cordarrol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Tobosy defense, Luis Mancio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cecilio Cordarrol. The Tobosy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cecilio Cordarrol should have stopped the shot. Edelmiro Tello charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edelmiro Tello the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Carlisle FC's Edelmiro Tello got a free kick in the 96th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Tobosy players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Carlisle FC.
