The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rene Afonso was the one to do the kick off. Boca Juniors's Feliks Adamowicz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Boca Juniors from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rene Afonso in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Javier Casado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Javier Oton fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Boca Juniors's protests and gave Javier Oton a yellow card for diving instead. In the 63rd match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Javier Oton to maneuver through the defense.
