If Urbano Montrelle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 20 minutes into the match, Nieves AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Uriel Aznaro came free, but Jeremias Santikurtz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Esteco's attentive Zeledon Otsando managed to snatch the ball when Constantino Rosario made a throw-in in the 27th minute of the game. Uriel Aznaro struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Jeremias Santikurtz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Esteco. Flavio Fanuco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Jeremias Santikurtz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34thth minute of the game Urbano Montrelle who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Esteco's Marciano Efren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marciano Efren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urbano Montrelle in the 37th minute of the match. If Fernan Artizar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Urbano Montrelle came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Nieves AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Urbano Montrelle couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Uriel Aznaro to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Nieves AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Oscar Toli came free, but Jeremias Santikurtz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 54 minutes, Uriel Aznaro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esteco's supporters crossed their fingers, but Uriel Aznaro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 58th minute, Aquilino Segio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Esteco's Zacarias Peli got a free kick in the 61st minute. Ivan Natanael, 61 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Nieves AFC's Urbano Montrelle got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 67 minutes into the match, Urbano Montrelle had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marciano Efren. Esteco's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Urbano Montrelle was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Uriel Aznaro in the 75th minute of play forced Nieves AFC's goalkeeper Jeremias Santikurtz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Urbano Montrelle in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marciano Efren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Nieves AFC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play.
