La Central's Rodrigo Playo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lino Izel in the 13th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in C.S.C.y.D. La Central's zone, Lino Izel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodrigo Playo came out of the goal and Lino Izel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 25 minutes, Aureliano Valente managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.S.C.y.D. La Central's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aureliano Valente was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 27th play minute Gaudencio Piorno came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Amadeo Paublo. 2-0. Aurelio Ibar might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Amadeo Paublo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aurelio Ibar ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gaudencio Piorno got free with Amadeo Paublo in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. C.S.C.y.D. La Central's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Aurelio Ibar in the 32nd minute. Baldomero Txindoki was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Gaudencio Piorno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeo Paublo having to interfere. La Central's goal looked a bit too open when Lino Izel came free, but Rodrigo Playo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. C.S.C.y.D. La Central's Gaudencio Piorno got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aurelio Ibar made a kick off. When Javier Bautista fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick.
