River Plate were furious when Astor Lertxun was red carded, 18 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 17 minutes into the game, one of River Plate:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 20 minutes, Pasta Base FC's Denis Orkatz got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Dario Tello. Dario Tello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bonifacio Bide, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, River Plate's Ignacio Ramos got a free kick in the 29th minute. Gogo Rosalio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Dario Tello made a huge save. In the 36th minute Salvador Franco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Firman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nunez Mendebal during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bonifacio Bide to make the kick off. The supporters of Pasta Base FC booed when River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Hechter didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee ignored Pasta Base FC's protests and gave Vladimiro Loco a yellow card for diving instead. After 73 played minutes Pasta Base FC got a freekick which was hit by Vladimiro Loco. Hugo Firman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eustacio Chano in the 85th minute of play. Robustiano Intxixu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Firman having to interfere.
