After a defensive mix-up in REY DE COPAS's zone, Javier Gardner stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiburcio Iigo came out of the goal and Javier Gardner tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 3 played minutes La Guardia Imperial got a freekick which was hit by Niceto Ibar. The throw-in from Elpidio Berto in the 5th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by La Guardia Imperial's Jonathan Telmo. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Niceto Ibar in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tiburcio Iigo saved REY DE COPAS from getting behind. In the 7th match minute, La Guardia Imperial was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Artemio Ferdinand to maneuver through the defense. After 14 minutes, Baltasar Abad mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the La Guardia Imperial and the REY DE COPAS players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, La Guardia Imperial's Baltasar Abad got a free kick in the 14th minute. 14 minutes into the match, REY DE COPAS's Edgardo Silban broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Tiburcio Iigo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Celedonio Foro went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 23 minutes into the game, Javier Gardner cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Tiburcio Iigo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 32nd minute of the match, Fidel Fibell got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ovidio Carlomagno was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Javier Gardner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. La Guardia Imperial's Ovidio Carlomagno proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save La Guardia Imperial from getting a goal against them. With 38 minutes on the clock, Baltasar Abad commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Ovidio Carlomagno had in the 40thth minute some difficulties stopping Edgardo Silban's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The supporters of La Guardia Imperial booed when REY DE COPAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dante Medero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tiburcio Iigo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Artemio Ferdinand, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Javier Gardner made a kick off. With a little luck, REY DE COPAS's Tiburcio Iigo got control of the ball when Jonathan Telmo tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Eugenio Felipillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. La Guardia Imperial's Ovidio Carlomagno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niceto Nesor in the 66th minute of play. Artemio Ferdinand blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tiburcio Iigo having to make a save. La Guardia Imperial's Ovidio Carlomagno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramon Aguilera in the 80th minute of play. 89 minutes into the match, Javier Gardner had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tiburcio Iigo. REY DE COPAS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Javier Gardner was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. 95 minutes into the match, REY DE COPAS's goalkeeper Tiburcio Iigo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Javier Gardner. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. La Guardia Imperial walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
