Rivercito FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Anthony Berti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cecilio Maju received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Basilio Peyo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 17 played minutes Rivercito FC got a freekick which was hit by Teobaldo Rainerio. 18 minutes into the match, Anthony Berti had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hernan Quiroga. Rivercito FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anthony Berti was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Hernan Quiroga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anthony Berti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Rivercito FC's Honorato Idacio got a free kick in the 22nd minute. In the 30th minute, Anthony Berti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Anthony Berti might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hernan Quiroga. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anthony Berti ran back to his position shaking his head. Hernan Quiroga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anthony Berti in the 31st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Rivercito FC's Zacarias Vidal got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Anthony Berti took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hernan Quiroga. Hernan Quiroga dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. 39 minutes into the match, Anthony Berti notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Rivercito FC's Hernan Quiroga. Hernan Quiroga was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Anthony Berti came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Messi FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anthony Berti couldn't finish the play.
In the 52nd minute Anthony Berti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hernan Quiroga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Rivercito FC defense, Sanson Cano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hernan Quiroga. The Rivercito FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hernan Quiroga should have stopped the shot. 56 minutes into the game, Messi FC's Anthony Berti nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hernan Quiroga made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-8. When Messi FC's Sanson Cano in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Messi FC's Jose Manuel Lopez was substituted for Delmar Rodriguez. The supporters of Rivercito FC booed when Messi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position.
