Club River Plate's Alonzo Eliazar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ignacio Etxepare in the 21st minute of play. After 46 minutes of play, Club River Plate's Atilano Benino made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Efthimis Karkavilas was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Celestino Ignado to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club River Plate's goalkeeper Alonzo Eliazar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Ignacio Etxepare's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alonzo Eliazar was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. After 94 minutes of play, Boca Juniors's Camilo Ospin made it 3-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alonzo Eliazar was left in no man's land by his defense there! Chants of Club River Plate echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Boca Juniors had held the ball for most of the match.
