The Union fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nicolas Mateo should have stopped the shot. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erubiel Venceslao to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Union's goalkeeper Nicolas Mateo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juan Quinteros. Haroldo Hernandez took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 56th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nicolas Mateo. Union's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Juan Quinteros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eleuterio Ariando charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eleuterio Ariando the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 75 played minutes Union got a freekick which was hit by Eleuterio Ariando. 76 minutes into the match, Astor Gustau dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nicolas Mateo, 0-8. The Atletico ALMA fans' excitement grew in the 93rd match minute when Atletico ALMA's Juan Quinteros looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-11 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Juan Quinteros who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 96thth minute tested the skills of Nicolas Mateo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the match was over Atletico ALMA could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Union throughout the match.
